Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is born in Romania and is a Romanian actor and TV host. She's best known as the protagonist of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the sole child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had secured a number of TV roles such as the lead role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. Her critically acclaimed performance in the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role of the secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are other Oscar nominated films that feature the divas. Over the years Alexandra has worked in several noteworthy national and international projects. For instance, the British biographical movie Control, the Greek-language film The Dust of Time, and French history miniseries Napoleon are among them. She was also on the jury at the Transylvania International Film Festival, and was also a juror at Cannes Film Festival.
