Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra Maria Lara was the sole child of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16 she portrayed the lead part in a variety of TV dramas. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominated features featuring female stars. Alexandra's career has seen her participate in several important national and international projects. These comprise British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as along with the French historic miniseries Napoleon. The actress also served on the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
